<br />National Public Works Week <br /> May 18–24, 2025 <br />Whereas:Public works professionals build and maintain infrastructure, facilities, and <br />services that are of vital importance to resilient communities and to public health, high quality of <br />life, and the well-being of the people of Roseville, and <br />Whereas:These infrastructure, facilities, and services could not be provided without the <br />dedicated efforts of public works professionals, at all levels of government and the private sector, <br /> who are responsible for rebuilding, improving, and protecting our nation’s transportation, water <br />supply, water treatment and solid waste systems, public buildings, and other structures and <br />facilities essential for our citizens; and <br />Whereas: Roseville’s 34 public works employees, work around the clock and who’s <br />responsibilities include: <br />123 miles of roads <br />162 miles of watermains <br />273 miles of sanitary and storm sewer pipe and 5,833 associated manholes <br />Nearly 100 miles of pathways <br />333 vehicles and equipment, and <br />Whereas:It is in the public interest for the citizens and civic leaders to gain knowledge of <br />and maintain an ongoing interest and understanding of the importance of public works and public <br />works programs in Roseville by signing up for construction updates, watching presentations <br />made to the Public Works Environment and Transportation Commission, and participating in <br />engagement opportunities when public input is sought; and <br />Whereas: 2025 marks the 65th annual National Public Works Week sponsored by the <br />American Public Works Association. <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby <br /> proclaim the week of May 18–24, 2025, as National Public Works Week in the City of Roseville. <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville <br />to be affixed this Fifth day of May 2025. <br />________________________ <br />Mayor Daniel J.
