<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 6/16/2025 <br />Item No.: 7.c. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br /> <br />Item Description: Joint meeting with Finance Commission <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 Each year the City Council meets with various commissions to review activities and <br />4 accomplishments and to discuss the upcoming year’s work plan and issues that may be <br />5 considered. <br />6 <br />7 Since the last joint meeting on June 17, 2024, the Finance Commission has conducted the <br />8 following discussions or activities: <br />9 <br />10 Reviewed excess cash reserve fund for 2024 <br />11 Received and reviewed 2024 audit reports <br />12 Reviewed and made recommendation on refunding water meter deposits <br />13 Reviewed and made recommendation on the 2025-2044 Capital Improvement Plan <br />14 Reviewed and provided recommendations on the 2025 Budget, Tax Levy and Utility <br />15 Rates <br />16 Reviewed the Utility Rate Study <br />17 Reviewed and obtained understanding of Fiscal Disparities <br />18 Reviewed and obtained understanding of how the city staff budget is built <br />19 Reviewed 2024 Investment Portfolio performance <br />20 <br />21 Attachment 1 was prepared by Commissioner Bester with regard to questions the <br />22 commission had on the audit and equity investments. <br />23 Attachment 2 is the 2025 work plan for the Commission. <br />24 <br />25 Policy Objectives <br />26 Not applicable. <br />27 <br />28 Equity Impact Summary <br />29 No equity impact. <br />30 <br />31 Budget Implications <br />32 Not applicable. <br />33 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />Qbhf!6:!pg!464 <br /> <br />
