Attachment 2
Additionally, the presence of centrally located space would likely be of value to the City
even if at some point in the future, dance is no longer viable.
Provide Office Space for Parks and Recreation Program Staff: In 2022, when the
Police Department Community Action Team was created, Parks and Recreation
Seasonal Program Coordinator Offices were moved to the Shops at Lexington. The
currently-programmed square footage of the Dance Studio building could provide
offices to support this staff when the Shops at Lexington are removed.
Support Facilities for Veterans Park: Although the City will certainly need to be
a unique opportunity for the License Passport Center and Dance Studio (LPCDS) to
support Veterans Park. At minimum, it seems that there is an opportunity to use the
construction of the new facility on site to provide year-round indoor restrooms for
Veterans Park users (as opposed to a portable restroom), and possibly more. Although
certainly not fully vetted out, one could envision the presence of some additional storage
or concessions for the Roseville Area Youth Softball Association a group who has
been seeking improved facilities for some time.
Additionally, it is important to note that the current project cost estimates are based on a larger-
than-needed footprint for a final studio, and could likely be value-engineered to provide some
cost savings.
The Roseville Dance Program continues to demonstrate strong participation, cost recovery, and
long-term community value. As the City considers future facility decisions related to the
Campus Master Plan, this memo is intended to provide the City Council with relevant
information to make an informed decision. I am also happy to answer any other questions that
Council members may have.
Page 3
Qbhf!62!pg!488
