FYiMTOEM 51 <br />Extract of Minutes of Meeting <br />of City Council <br />City of Roseville <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting <br />of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly <br />held at the City Hall in said City on Monday, the 27th day of <br />July , 1981, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. <br />The following members were present: Mayor Demos, Councilmen <br />Curley, Kehr, Johnson and Franke <br />and the following were absent: <br />Councilman Cu <br />and moved its adoption: <br />None <br />introduced the following resolution <br />Resolution No. 7216 <br />RESOLUTION RELATING TO DEFERRAL <br />OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS <br />WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. 435.193 authorizes municipalities to <br />provide for the deferral of special assessments for senior <br />citizens 65 years of age or older if the payment of those special <br />assessments would create a hardship for the senior citizen <br />property owner; and <br />WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. 435.193, as amended, authorizes munici- <br />palities to provide for the deferral of special assessments for <br />persons retired by virtue of a permanent and total disability if <br />the payment of those special assessments would create a hardship <br />for the retired and disabled property owner; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council believes that it is the best <br />interest of all of the citizens of the City of Roseville to estab- <br />lish a procedure for the deferral of special assessments for <br />senior citizens and certain retired disabled persons where a hard- <br />ship exists. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the <br />City of Roseville, Minnesota, as follows: <br />1. Establishment of Deferral: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. <br />435.193 et seq., special assessment installment payments payable <br />by senior citizens and persons retired by virtue of permanent <br />and total disability are deferred if payment of such installments <br />would create a hardship. <br />Page 48 of 57 <br />
