• Green To Go enforcement began January 1. Businesses received notification of changes for this <br />year, which include: <br />o Exemption of sauce cups and lids. <br />o Acceptance of plastic -lined paper cups, to align with Waste Management's <br />announcement of accepting these at their recycling facilities. <br />• Staff will present to Shoreview's Environmental Quality Commission about Green To Go on <br />February 23. <br />• Three residents were selected forthe Sustainable Steward award program for 2025. Awards <br />were to be distributed at the January 12 City Council meeting. <br />• Staff extended internship off ersto two candidates for sustainability and environmental <br />internships, which were accepted bythe candidates. <br />• Staff was invited to present at Nature at Nine on February 11. Noelle Bakken will discuss <br />techniques for maintaining resilience duringthe climate emergency and other difficult times. <br />Maintenance Updates: <br />• Street and Storm <br />o Ongoing street and parking lot winter maintenance. <br />o Assist with water main breaks. <br />o Annualtree trimming. <br />o Ongoing storm sewer and sign maintenance. <br />o Respondingto callouts for maintenance. <br />• Water and Sanitary Sewer <br />o Continued inspections forwater service line inventory. <br />o Assisting with lift station evaluations with consultant. <br />o Continued locates, weekly lift station inspections, collection of water samples. <br />o Respond to and repairwater main breaks, water gate valves and sewer backups. <br />Council Updates: <br />• Below is a highlight of items recently presented to and/or acted on bythe City Council.
