34
35 Equity Impact Summary
36 There should be no negative equity impacts associated with this project since it is an
37 upgrade to infrastructure and should benefit everyone. The proposed pathways will
38 enhance walking and biking within the area to better connect neighborhoods, schools,
39 commercial businesses, and parks for those too young to drive, those who don’t own cars,
40 and those who choose to walk or bike.
41
42 Budget Implications
43 There will be no construction costs for Roseville for the project. It is important to note that
44 as the City continues to expand its pathway system, ongoing evaluation of maintenance
45 capacity and winter plowing prioritization will be necessary. Staff believes the proposed
46 segments can be accommodated with existing resources and budgets; however, with
47 several miles of pathway added in recent years and an additional 4.5 miles anticipated by
48 2028, continued discussion about long-term maintenance strategies will be important to
49 ensure service levels remain consistent.
50
51 Staff Recommendations
52 Staff recommends the Council adopt the attached resolution approving MnDOT
53 Cooperative Construction Agreement No. 1061476.
54
55 Requested Council Action
56 Motion to adopt the attached resolution approving MnDOT Cooperative Construction
57 Agreement No. 1061476.
58
59
Jennifer Lowry, Assistant Public Works Director / City Engineer
Prepared by:
1.Resolution
Attachments:
2.Agreement
3.Location Map
60
Qbhf!233!pg!2:7
