o Staff began working with Change Narrative LLC in late February to identify storytellers <br />within the community to tell their stories related to climate change, for inclusion in the <br />plan. <br />• Green To Go enforcement began January 1. Businesses received notification of changes for this <br />year, which include: <br />o Exemption of sauce cups and lids. <br />o Acceptance of plastic -lined paper cups, to align with Waste Management's <br />announcement of accepting these at their recycling facilities. <br />• Staff will present to Shoreview's Environmental Quality Commission about Green To Go on <br />February 23. <br />• Staff was invited to take part in an environmental career panelfor St. Olaf College on <br />Wednesday, March 4. <br />• Kimley-Horn started working on the Willow Pond Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) <br />that is required as part of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) permit forthe 2026/2027 <br />Willow Pond dredging project. Staff will discuss the EAW and the dredging of Willow Pond at the <br />May Commission meeting. <br />Maintenance Updates: <br />• Street and Storm <br />o Ongoing street and parking lot winter maintenance. <br />o Offer to hire accepted for open maintenance position. <br />0 1" compost turning of 2025 Fall leaves completed. <br />o Assist with water main breaks. <br />o Annualtree trimming. <br />o Trash picking retail areas with mid -winter melt. <br />o Ongoing storm sewer and sign maintenance. <br />o Respondingto callouts for maintenance. <br />• Water and Sanitary Sewer <br />o Continued inspections for water service line inventory. <br />o Assisting with lift station evaluations with consultant. <br />o Continued locates, weekly lift station inspections, collection of water samples. <br />o Respond to and repair water main breaks, water gate valves and sewer backups. <br />Council Updates: <br />Below is a highlight of items recently presented to and/or acted on bythe City Council.
