Business Items <br />39 a. Communication Items <br />40 Public Works Director Jesse Freihammer provided an overview of numerous <br />41 projects in design, bidding, or planned construction overthe next several years. <br />42 Key updates included: <br />43 • The Lexington Avenue Pathway project is out for bid, with an anticipated <br />44 award in February. <br />45 • A public meeting on the Hamline Avenue Project will be held on <br />46 February 10 (5:30-7:00 p.m.) at Autumn Grove Park. The project includes <br />47 a pathway, water main work, and road resurfacing in coordination with <br />48 Arden Hills and Ramsey County. <br />49 • The 2026 Pavement Management Program (PMP) is in design, with bidding <br />50 expected in February or March and covering approximately seven miles of <br />51 pavement rehabilitation. <br />52 • Wayfinding signage and the Willow Pond project were discussed; Willow <br />53 Pond will likely be delayed until winter next year due to environmental <br />54 review requirements, though professional services have been approved. <br />55 • Street and intersection lighting projects for 2026 will begin once frost is out <br />56 of the ground, with neighborhood discussions ongoing regarding standard <br />57 versus enhanced lighting. <br />58 • Several Ramsey County projects were highlighted, including: <br />59 o County Road C (construction in 2026, bridge in 2027). <br />60 o Fairview Avenue from Larpenteur to County Road B2 (spring/summer <br />61 2026, completed before the State Fair). <br />62 o County Road D (design underway, construction in 2027). <br />63 o Victoria Street Pathway (design beginning). <br />64 o Rice Street (early planning, first public meeting February 5; construction <br />65 in 2028). <br />66 MnDOT projects include resurfacing on Snelling Avenue and <br />67 Highway 280, with a virtual public meeting scheduled for February 11. <br />68 Changes include removing the northbound left turn onto Broadway from <br />69 Highway 280. <br />70 Staffing updates included hiring summer engineering and sustainability <br />71 interns and attendance at the City Engineers Conference. <br />72 A Met Council grant for private sanitary sewer rehabilitation was fully <br />73 subscribed within minutes, with hopes to secure additional funding next <br />74 year. <br />75 • Updates were provided on the Climate Equity Action Plan, upcoming <br />76 meetings, survey extensions, and future neighborhood engagement. <br />77 • Green To Go enforcement began January 1, sustainability awards will be <br />78 presented at afuture meeting, and Public Works crews continue to manage <br />Page 2 of 10 <br />Page 97 of 105 <br />
