<br />.~3~ <br /> <br />The following appeared in opposition of said improvement and the substance <br />of the view presented by them was as follows~ <br /> <br />Glenn Brand~ American Oil Company~ stated that his company would receive <br />nObene-fItFrom the improvement and strongly opposed it He questioned <br />the necessity of a 48 foot wide street, He also asked who had instigated <br />the improvement, the property owners or the Village, lIe stated that if <br />the Village considered this improvement desirable from the standpoint of <br />expanding its industrial development, the Village should bear the cost <br />He also complained that the property was the most tax burdened operation <br />in his company and felt the operation was becoming an economic Impossibility <br />in this locationo <br /> <br />Winston Hunson~ Schirmer Transportation COT:1pany~ stated that the company <br />lie wa.s-representing was definite Iy against the improvement 0 lIe stated <br />that Schirmer Transportation felt that any additional taxes or assess~ <br />ments would make the development of this property prohibitiveo He asked <br />how much of the money involved in the construction would come from <br />Hinnesota State Aid funds and whether access to Long Lake Road would be <br />limited, I~ concluded by stating that the majority of the property <br />owners abutting the property opposed the assessment" <br /> <br />Harry Gustafson..
