<br />-2- <br /> <br />The Public Works Director indicated that the assessment on the <br />petitioner's property would be approximately $6,600. He indicated <br />he had exempted from proposed assessments the side lot lines of the <br />properties that front on Minnesota Avenue. This increased the <br />frontage assessments for the remaining property. He indicated <br />the Village would have to assume assessments on the park land of <br />well over $11,000. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened the meeting for questions and comments: <br /> <br />1. Frank Weiss, 1224 Matilda - stated he had petitioned for the <br />improvement but felt that the assessment was being improperly <br />imposed. He stated he felt the entire street frontage should <br />be assessed and not just the property that fronts on ~le street. <br /> <br />2. Michael Haider, 329 Minnesota Avenue - Mr. Haider favored the <br />improvement. <br /> <br />3. Frank Weiss, 1224 Matilda - indicated that he wanted a period <br />of time to think about it before he would conunit himself on the <br />improvement. <br /> <br />The Mayor closed the hearing. <br /> <br />Shields Moved, Grauel Seconded, that the public hearing on <br />Improvements 67-15, 67-16 and 67-17 be continued until July 10, <br />1967. Roll Call, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). <br /> <br />The Mayor opened the hearing on Improvement 67-19. <br /> <br />The Village Manager presented affidavits of publication of notice <br />of the hearing and certificates of mailing notices to the effected <br />property owners. <br /> <br />The Consulting Engineer presented a report on the proposed improve- <br />ment. He stated that the proposed improvement encompassed Pascal <br />Avenue between Brooks and Rose Place and Rose Place from Pascal Avenue <br />east. <br /> <br />The Village Manager indicated that the assessment procedure followed <br />on the former storm sewer improvements was proposed for this improve- <br />ment. This would involve a $200 per buildable lot assessment for <br />residential property. He stated that the assessments from benefitted <br />property would be sufficient to defray 20% of the cost of the improve- <br />ment. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened the meeting for questions and comments: <br /> <br />1. Carl Brostrom, 2577 North Pascal. He favored the improvement. He <br />also stated that he wants Rose Place improved because it is un- <br />serviceable at present. <br /> <br />2. Dr. Michael Blaw, 2570 North Pascal.
