VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE Regular Meeting of the Village Council - October 16, 1967. The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present: Mayor Cedarholm, Councilmen Curley, Grauel, Goodrich and Shields. Shields r.1oved, Grauel Seconded, that the minutes of the meeting of October 9, 1967, be approved. Roll Call, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) - Abstentions: (1) Councilman Goodrich abstaining. Mayor Cedarholm made the following Proclamations: WHEREAS working women const! tute 26,000,000 of the nation's working force, and are constantly striving to serve their communities, their states and their nation in civic and cultural programs, and WHEREAS major goals of business and professional women are to help create better conditions for business women through the study of social, educational, economic and political problems; to help them be of greater service to their community; to further friendships with women throughout the world, and WHEREAS all of us are proud of their leadership in these many fields of endeavor, NOW, THEREFORE, I, E. F. Cedarholm, Mayor of the Village of Roseville, by the authority ves ted in me, do hereby pro- claim October 15 to 21 as NATIONAL BUSINESS WOMEN'S WEEK sponsored by the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc. and urge all citizens, all civic and fraternal groups, all education associations, all news media and other community organizations to join in this salute to working women by encouraging and promoting the celebration of the achievements of all business and professional women as they contribute daily to our economic, civic and cultural purposes. * * * * * * * * * * * * * Since the birth of the Republic, millions of Americans have placed themselves as a living shield between their country and her enemies, emerging unscathed through the benevolence of a merciful Creator. We have set aside one day of the year to honor those men and women whose actions have testified to their courage and devotion to country. On this Veterans Day, we honor their heroism, and we give thanks to them for their sacrifice. We have preserved our freedom only through the continued willingness of brave men and women to risk the sacrifice of their lives for its sake. We honor those who wore that uniform in days past, and those who wear it today. Especially this year our thoughts go out to the hundreds of thousands who are resisting the forces of aggression and violence in Vietnam. 7:00 P.M.
