<br />-2- <br /> <br />We can never repay our debt to them, for it is beyond price. <br />But we can show our recognition of the gift they have made to <br />their country. We can pay tribute to the nobility of man, as it <br />is expressed in a soldier's courage. <br /> <br />To this end, the Congress of the United States of America has <br />designated the eleventh of November as a legal holiday to be <br />known as Veterans Day, and has dedicated it to the cause of world <br />peace (Act of May 13, 1938, 52 Stat. 351, as amended 5 V.S.C. 87a.) <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, E. F. Cedarholm, Mayor of Roseville, <br />Minnesota, call upon our people to observe Saturday, November ll, <br />1967, as Veterans Day, in commemorating the service or our veterans <br />of past wars, and pledging our full support to the men and women <br />of today who are continuing the struggle for freedom and peace for <br />which so many have fought and died. Let us join with fervor in <br />this observance. <br /> <br />I request that all people display their American Flags, and <br />that the day be marked and observed with appropriate ceremonies <br />throughout the area. <br /> <br />IT WITNESS WHEREOF, I hereunto set my hand on this <br />16th day of October. 1967. <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Mayor Cedarholm opened the public hearing for proposed assessments <br />on Improvement Nos. 66-3l and 66-32. <br /> <br />The Village Manager presented an affidavit showing publication <br />of notice of hearing on the proposed assessment for Improvements <br />No.'s 66-31 and 66-32 in Suburban Life on September 27, 1967, and <br />October 4, 1967, which affidavit was examined, found satisfactory, and <br />ordered placed on file. The Manager also exhibited a Certificate of <br />Mailing Notice of Hearing to all affected property owners. <br /> <br />The Mayor announced that the meeting was open for the consider- <br />ation of objections, if any, to said proposed assessment. All <br />persons present were then given an opportunity to present oral <br />objections theretofore filed with the Village Clerk were presented <br />and considered, and all such objections were tabulated as follows: <br /> <br />MRS. WILLIAM ENG, 495 Iona Lane: Wanted to know the amount of <br />her assessment. <br /> <br />The hearing was closed. <br /> <br />Curley Moved, Grauel Seconded, that Resolution No. 1937 adopting assess- <br />ment roll for Improvement Nos. 66-31 and 66-32 be adopted.
