Johnson stated she has received calls from several PRESBYTERIAN <br />neighbors at Presbyterian Homes regarding signing of HOMES <br />the contract and requesting copies of the signed <br />contract. Karl Keel explained the process has been <br />held up because of the amended Planned unit Develop- <br />ment contract. Council asked that the contract be <br />available for signatures and signed within one month, <br />with copies to be distributed to the neighbors and <br />Council. <br /> <br />The meeting was recessed at 6:00 p.m. for a supper break. <br /> <br />The meeting was reconvened at 7:15 p.m. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS, RECOGNITIONS, AND PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />The Council, at its October 24, 1994 meeting, <br />proclaimed Tuesday, November 15, as curtis E. Johnson <br />Oay in the city of Roseville. Mrs. Johnson was <br />presented with the proclamation at this time. <br /> <br />The Police Department presented a plaque to Roseville <br />resident Al Witkin, for his assistance in the arrest <br />of two burglars at a Roseville residence on October <br />19, 1994. <br /> <br />Don Salverda, on behalf of the Roseville Rotary Club, <br />thanked the Council for adopting a proclamation <br />proclaiming October 16-22 as National Character Counts <br />Week in Roseville. He explained the Rotary's concern <br />about the growing violence in our society. To address <br />this concern, Mr. Salverda explained the "Character <br />Counts Coalition" and stated the Roseville Rotary Club <br />is proposing the formation of a partnership of <br />organizations and individuals in the North Suburban <br />Area to address concerns at the local level. <br /> <br />Bob Bierscheid, Parks and Recreation Director, <br />introduced Bill Cushman, President of the united <br />states Speed Skating Association, and the speed <br />skating coach of nine visitors from a speed skating <br />team in the Netherlands, and presented the coach with <br />Roseville mugs and pins for the visitors. <br /> <br />Mike Pederson asked Council for a public explanation <br />of roof top screening, and stated his concern with the <br />looks of the screening on the building at County Road <br />C and Fairview Avenue. <br /> <br />Mary Bakeman, member of Friends of Lexington Park, <br />discussed a fact sheet on parks that their group has <br />put together. <br /> <br />CURTIS E. <br />JOHNSON <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT <br />PLAQUE <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />CHARACTER <br />COUNTS <br />COALITION <br /> <br />NETHERLANDS <br />VISITORS <br /> <br />MIKE PEDERSON <br /> <br />MARY BAKEMAN <br />
