<br />(1) Serve in an advisory capacity to the Council, <br />Manager and Parks and Recreation Director on <br />parks and recreation matters. <br /> <br />(2) Maintain an interest in and an understanding <br />of the functions and operations of the Parks <br />and Recreation Department. <br /> <br />(3) Maintain an interest in and an understanding <br />of the City school system and promote the <br />greatest possible utilization of school and <br />municipal recreation programs. <br /> <br />(4) Endeavor to secure a full and complete <br />understanding of the City's needs and desires <br />for parks and recreational facilities and be <br />sensitive to the acceptance within the <br />community of the current program. <br /> <br />(5) Convey to the Council their understanding of <br />the community's sentiment regarding <br />recreation and parks and to submit <br />recommendations to the Council on parks and <br />recreation programs and policy. <br /> <br />(6) Review conditions and adequacy of City park <br />property. <br /> <br />(7) Provide hearings to groups or individuals <br />upon request regarding parks and recreation <br />matters. <br /> <br />(8) Keep informed and consider all financial <br />aspects pertaining to parks and recreation. <br /> <br />(9) Consider proper names for City park property. <br /> <br />(10) Propose regulations for control of City park <br />property to the Council. <br /> <br />(11) Advise and assist architectural engineers on <br />preparation of specific plans prior to the <br />presentation to the Council for formal <br />approval. <br /> <br />(12) Represent the City at community functions <br />where appropriate and approved by the <br />Council. <br /> <br />(13) Represent the City at meetings with other <br />community, county or state boards of similar <br />nature where appropriate and approved by the <br />Council. <br />
