<br />SECTION VIII <br /> <br />',~51 <br /> <br />UNSAFE :BILLBOARDS <br /> <br />Whenever it shall appear to the building inspector that any billboard has been <br />erected. or constructed. or is being maintained. in violation of any of the terms of this <br />ordinance, or is unsafe or is insecure or in such a condition as to be a menace to the <br />safety or health of the public, he shall thereupon issue or shall cause to be issued <br />notice in writing to the owner or any person in charge of possession or control thereof, <br />if the whereabouts of such person is knoQ, informing such person of the violation of <br />this ordinance and the dangerous condition of such billboard and. direct him to make such <br />alteration or repairs thereto necessary or advisable to place suCh structure in a safe, <br />9U.bstantial and secure condition, and to make the same comply with the requirement s of <br />this ordinance wi thin such reasonable time as shall be stated. in such notice. If such <br />person cannot be found or his whereabouts cannot be ascertained.'with rea.sonable diligence, <br />the building inspector shall attach or cause to be attached. to such structure a notice <br />of the same import as that required to be sent to the owner or person in possession or <br />control thereof when such owner is known. Upon failure to cOlIl);>ly with such notice wi thin <br />the time therein mentioned, the building inspector shall cause such billboard or such <br />portion thereof as is constructed or maintained. in violation of this ordinance to be <br />torn d.own, and shall charge the expense of such tearing down to the owner or person in <br />charge or control thereof, and may be recovered by the Village against him. <br /> <br />SEOTION IX <br />REVOCATION OF LICDSlII <br /> <br />The Village Council may, at ~ time, for a violation of this ordinance revoke any <br />license. Whensver any license shall be so revoked., no refunds of any unearned. portion of <br />the license fees shall be made. Notice of such r..-.tion and. the reason or reasons <br />therefor in writing shall be served upon the person named. in the application by mailing <br />the same to the address given in the application. <br /> <br />SECTIOlT X <br /> <br />The provisions of this ordinance with reference to construction requirements of <br />billboards shall not apply to billboards already existing but shall apply to all bill- <br />boards hereafter erected, altered., refaced, relocated or reconstructed. Application for <br />a license to maintain any billboard now erected. shall be made to the Village Clerk within <br />30 days from the passage of this ordinance by the owner or person maintaining such bill- <br />board. and. for such existing billboards no permit need be obtained from the building <br />inspector. <br /> <br />SECTION XI <br /> <br />Any person violating the provisions of this ord.inance shall be guilty of a mis- <br />demeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $100 or by imprisonment not to exceed 90 days. <br /> <br />SECTION XII <br /> <br />This ordinance shall take effect and. be in force from and. after its passage. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />c'~', <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />
