No used gas burner shall be installed unless it is of a type, <br />make and model currently approved for installation in the Village of Roseville <br />as evidenced by a certificate of approval. <br /> <br />Section 2 ~ 5 TYPE OF GAS: <br /> <br />The requirements of this ordinance shall apply to gas burners eupplied with <br />natural gas from the general distribution system within the Village of R08eville. <br />Burners and their installation where supplied with other types of gas, such as <br />bottled or liquefied petrolelun gas, shall conform to the requireMents of this <br />ordinance where applicable together with the requirements of the American Gas <br />Association and the National Board of Fire Underwriters pertaining to the type <br />of gas to be used. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 6 Ventilation: <br /> <br />Gas ourners'and'gas burning: appliances as hereinbefore defined shall not be <br />installed for operation in a room where the normal facilities for ventilation do <br />not permit p~oper combustion of the gas, unless special provision is made for <br />supplying sufficient air for complete cOmbustion. <br /> <br />INSTALLATION OF CONVERSION BUR.l\fERS, GAS DESIGNED <br />APPLIANCES AND CONTROLS <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 7 GENERAL: <br /> <br />The installation of conversion burners shall be made in conformance with <br />American Standards Association requirements, as sponsored by the American Gas <br />Association and with requirements herein set forth. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 8 PREPAHATION OF BOILERS AND FURNACES: <br /> <br />Before a gas burner is installed in any existing .boiler or furnace, allflues, <br />fire pots, combustion chambers and connecting joints through which flue gases are <br />conducted shall be thoroughly cleaned, examined for leaks and draft conditions <br />and made gas tight as shown by a smoke bomb test or its equivalent. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 9 FLUES AND FLUE PIPES: <br /> <br />The chimney flue and flue pipe shall be ~xamined and reconditioned if <br />necessary so that they will freely conduct the flue gases to the outer air. Where <br />flue pipes are rusted or burned out, they shall be replaced by new pipe. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 10 DRAFT HOODS: <br /> <br />Each gas burning appliance shall be equipped with a draft hood or its <br />equivalent designed to: <br />(1) Insure the ready escape of the 'products of combustion in the event of <br />no draft, back draft, or stoppage beyond the appliance. <br />(2) Prevent. a back draft from entering the appliance. <br />(3) Neutralize the ef~ect of stack action of the flue upon the operation <br />of the appliance. <br />
