<br />1137 <br /> <br />The draft hood shall be placed in and made a part of the flue pipe from the <br />applicmce or shall be in the appliance itself, Such device shall have a free <br />area equal to or greater than the cross-sectional area of the flue pipe connected <br />thereto subject to the approval of the Gas Inspector. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 10.1 <br /> <br />The draft hood shall be located at a point not lower than the top of the <br />highest flue passage in the appliance. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 10.2 <br /> <br />Appliances of the revertible flue type shall have the draft hood located at <br />least one foot higher than the top of the highest fl~ passage. Proper provision <br />shall be made, subject to the approval of the Gas Inspector, to prevent the <br />accumulation of gas in any part thereof. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 11 FLUE PIPES: <br /> <br />The internal cross-sectional area of the flue pipe. between the appliance <br />and the chimney liner shall be such as to provide not less than one square inch <br />of flue area per 7,500 hourly BTU input. In no case- shall this flue pipe be <br />less than five (5) inches 1.n diameter for central heating gae appliances nor <br />less than foUr (4) inches in diameter for space heating appliances and it shall <br />not be larger than the next integral inch diameter above tbJ! size given in the <br />following table: <br /> <br />MINIMUM PERMISSIBLE FLUE SIZES <br />FOR GAS BURNER INSTALLATIONS <br /> <br />Input Rating <br />BTU per <br />Hour <br /> <br />..\rea of <br />Flue Outlet <br />Sq.
