This. time limit may be extended by <br />the governing body providing that application for such extensiibn of time in <br />writing previous to the expiration date of said permit. <br /> <br />1-50 Whenever it becomes necessary for any inspector to reinspect any work which has <br />been found faulty during the first inspection, a re-inspection fee shall be <br />paid by the permitee. This re-inspection fee shall be five (5.00) dollars. <br /> <br />1-51 Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of tIlls code shall be pun- <br />ished by a fine of not less than five ($5.00) dollars nor more than one hun- <br />dred (:;$100.00) dollars or by imprisonment of not less than five (5) days <br />nor more than ninety (90) days for said offense and it is further provided <br />that each three (3) days that a violation of this code continues shall con- <br />stitute a separate offense SUbject to the punishments herein provided. <br /> <br />1-.52 The various provisions of this building code shall be severable, and if any <br />part or provision shall be held to be invalid, it shall not be held to invali- <br />date any other part or provision thereof. <br /> <br />1-53 The apparent silenoe of this building code as to any detail concerning the <br />method of performing any of the work described herein or any of the materials <br />to be used in connection with that work shall be regarded as meaning that only <br />the best general practice is to prevail and that all materials and worlananship <br />are to be of the type and character \f~1ich shall provide the best final result <br />in any construction. In any cases where this code omits specific reference <br />to any work or material which may in fairmess be implied, the permitee shall <br />perform such work and furnish such material that the work will be complete <br />according to good ,)ractice and in the interest of the public. <br /> <br />1-54 It shall not be the intention of this code or the governing bodi~s of the <br />municipalities to prellent the use of material or methods .which may either now <br />or in the future prove to be equal or better than any of those described here- <br />in. The governing body of the municipality may permit a revision in this code <br />after they have eeen satisfied that such a change or revision is one which <br />-vall give equal or better results. <br /> <br />SECTION TWO <br />DEFTNITIONS <br /> <br />2-1 Unless otherwise expressly stated, the following t~ shall, for the purpose <br />of this code, have the meanings indicated in.this section. <br /> <br />2-2 Words used in the present tense include the future; words in the masculine <br />gender incliide the feminine and neuter; the singular munber inclildes the <br />plural and pEle plural the singular. <br /> <br />2-3 Where terms are not defined in this section, they shall have their ordinarily <br />accepted meanings or such as the context may imply. <br /> <br />2-4 Alley means any public space or thoroughfare 20 feet in width which has been <br />dedicated or deeded for public use. <br /> <br />-6- <br />
