(0) The aggregate shall conform to the requirements of Section 3138 for Class 5 aggregate modified to permit a minimum of 1 percent passing the No. 200 sieve. ~35 (b) The bituminous material for the prime coat shall be MC-O or Me-I and shall be applied to the prepared sub-base at the rate designated by the Engineer between 0..1 gallon and 0.3 gallon per ~) square yard. (3) Section 2331 Plant-Mixed Bituminous Surface. The plant-mixed bituminous surface shall be constructed 1n accordance with the material and construction requirements of Sec- tion 2331, except: (a) The bituminous material for the tack coat shall be MC-2 or MC-3 and shall be applied on the surface of the bituminous base at the rate directed by th~ Engineer, not to exceed 0.05 gallon per square yard. (b) The bituminous material for the mixture shall be AC-I. ) 150-200 penetration. The percentage by weight of the bituminous material in the mixture shall be as directed by the Engineer within the range of 4.5 to 5.3. depending on the character of the aggregate. (Note: One square yard of bituminous mixture one inch thick weighs approximately 100 pounds.) (c) The aggregate shall conform to the requirements of Section 3139 for BA-2.
