<br />ORDINANCE NO. ..~;/7 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATIVE TO <br />THE LICENSING OF PUBLIC <br />DANCE HALLS. <br /> <br />The Village Council of Reseville does ordain: <br /> <br />SECTION I. <br /> <br />License Required. No person shall, within the limits of the <br />Village of Roseville, conduct a public dance hall Yithout a license <br />or permit therefor as hereinafter provided. <br /> <br />SECTION II. <br /> <br />Application. Every person desiring to obtain a license to conduct <br />a public dance hall in said Village of Rosevi11e shall apply in writing <br />for the same to the Village Council of said Village. In his application <br />he shall state the street number of the building and the floor thereof <br />wherein it is proposed to conduct said dance hall, the occupation of the <br />applicant for the year next preceding the making of his application, <br />whether or not the applicant has previously ~onducted a dance hall, and <br />if so, when and where, whether or not the applicant has ever been convict- <br />od of violation of Minnesota Statutes 617.1;2 through 617.54, relating to <br />public dance halls, and if convicted, when, and where, whether saii,dsnce <br />hall or the stairs or passageway, leading thereto adjoins any place having <br />so-called "private apartments" or "private rooms" furnished for other than <br />legitimate purposes, and whether said dance hall has direct communication <br />with any room in which intOxicating liquors are sold or given away. Such <br />application shall be verified by the applicant and :filed with the Village <br />Clerk and by him endorsed and referred to the Health Inspector. No <br />license shall be issued before the Health Inspector shall have certified <br />to the Village Council that said place complies with all the requirements <br />and regulations as to ventilation, toilet conveniences and other regula- <br />tions pertinent to the public health. <br /> <br />SECTION III. <br /> <br />The Village Council upon receiving the application hereinbefore <br />described, if it shall deem the applicant a fit person to conduot a dance <br />hall, and if the said dance hall is so located as to comply with the laws <br />of the State and the regulation of the Health Department, shall authorize <br />and direct the Village Clerk to issue to the applicant a license to conduct <br />a public canee hall at the place designated in suoh application. <br />
