WITHIN THE <br />VILLAGE PUBLIC RIGHTS-OF-WAY. FOR THE PROTECTION <br />AND PROMOTION OF PUBLIC SAFETY. HEALTH AND WELFARE <br />IN THE VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE. AND PRESCRIBING <br />PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAME <br /> <br />The village ~ouncil of Roseville does ordain: <br /> <br />SECTION I. <br /> <br />PURPOSE AND JURISDICTION <br /> <br />Pursuant to the applicable statutory authority of the <br />village Council to regulate, control and maintain Village streets <br />as provided in Minnesota Statutes Annotated, Chapters 412, 429 <br />and 471, and because there are several independent water distri- <br />bution systems within the village of Roseville. and because the <br />Village may install a public water distribution system in the <br />future, the regulating of connection to the systems for private <br />use is deemed necessary for the health, safety and general <br />welfare of this community. <br /> <br />SECTION II. <br /> <br />TAPPING OF WATER MAINS PROHIBITED <br /> <br />No persons except persons duly authorized by the supervising <br />body of the several water distribution systems shall tap any <br />distributing main or pipe, or insert stop=cocks or ferrules therein <br />to any system that lies within the jurisdiction of this Ordinance. <br /> <br />SECTION III. <br /> <br />PERMITS REQUIRED <br /> <br />A. No connection or service tapping shall be made to any <br />system without first obtaining a permit therefor from the Village <br />of Roseville. An app~ication for a permit shall be submitted 8n <br />blanks furnished ~ the Village and shall be accompanied ~ pre- <br />liminary approval by the supervisor of the particular system, plans, <br />specifications and such other information as may be required by <br />the Village Engineer, together with a permit fee of $2.00.
