SECTJ:ON VJ:J:. WATER METER REQUJ:REMENTS Water meers are required and no person shall use or permit any residence, commercial building or any other building to be supplied with water from any distribution system except the same be metered by passing through a meter approved by the village or except when authorized by a special permit by the Village. All meter installations shall have a stop and waste on the street side of the meter, which stop and waste shall in every case, connect directly to the tail piece furnished with the meter. No unauthorized person ahall connect, disconnect, take apart, or in any manner change or cause to be changed, or interfere with any such meter or the action thereof. All work or changes by duly authorized persons shall be reported to the Village immediately. SECTION VIII. SERVJ:CE PIPE LINE The service pipe line is the pipe and all the appurtenances from the connection at the main to and including the water meter. The service pipe must have a corporation cock at the main and the stopcock accessible from the surface through a sleeve without digging and in all cases must be placed at the property line or easement line of the building being served. Every service pipe must be sufficiently waving to allow not less than one foot of extra length, and in such a manner as to prevent rupture by settlement. The service pipe must be placed not less than seven feet below the surface and in all cases so arranged as to prevent rupture from freezing_ The service line shall be copper with flanged connections, or cast iron as provided in Section IV hereof. SECTJ:ON XX. STATE CODE MAY APPLY Unless otherwise provided in this ordinance, the provisions of the Minnesota Plumbing Code as approved by the Minnesota State Board of Health, as far as they shall be applicable, shall be made a part of this ordinance.
