<br />SECTJ:ON VJ:J:. <br /> <br />WATER METER REQUJ:REMENTS <br /> <br />Water meers are required and no person shall use or permit <br />any residence, commercial building or any other building to be <br />supplied with water from any distribution system except the same <br />be metered by passing through a meter approved by the village or <br />except when authorized by a special permit by the Village. All <br />meter installations shall have a stop and waste on the street side <br />of the meter, which stop and waste shall in every case, connect <br />directly to the tail piece furnished with the meter. No unauthorized <br />person ahall connect, disconnect, take apart, or in any manner change <br />or cause to be changed, or interfere with any such meter or the <br />action thereof. All work or changes by duly authorized persons shall <br />be reported to the Village immediately. <br /> <br />SECTION VIII. <br /> <br />SERVJ:CE PIPE LINE <br /> <br />The service pipe line is the pipe and all the appurtenances <br />from the connection at the main to and including the water meter. <br />The service pipe must have a corporation cock at the main and the <br />stopcock accessible from the surface through a sleeve without digging <br />and in all cases must be placed at the property line or easement line <br />of the building being served. Every service pipe must be sufficiently <br />waving to allow not less than one foot of extra length, and in such <br />a manner as to prevent rupture by settlement. The service pipe must <br />be placed not less than seven feet below the surface and in all cases <br />so arranged as to prevent rupture from freezing_ The service line <br />shall be copper with flanged connections, or cast iron as provided <br />in Section IV hereof. <br /> <br />SECTJ:ON XX. <br /> <br />STATE CODE MAY APPLY <br /> <br />Unless otherwise provided in this ordinance, the provisions <br />of the Minnesota Plumbing Code as approved by the Minnesota State <br />Board of Health, as far as they shall be applicable, shall be made <br />a part of this ordinance. <br /> <br />SECTJ:ON X. <br /> <br />PRIVATE ~TER SUPPLIES <br /> <br />No water p~e of any distribution system shall be connected <br /> <br />-4- <br />
