<br />(1) A security deposit to be made by customers for water <br /> <br />meters, and payment for same shall be made in advance <br /> <br />of installations, as follows: <br /> <br />5/8" X 3/4" meter without remote <br />reading device <br />5/8" x 3/4" meter with remote <br />reading device <br />1" meter without remote reading <br />device <br />1" meter with remote reading <br />device <br /> <br />$30.00 <br /> <br />50.00 <br /> <br />45.00 <br /> <br />65.00 <br /> <br />For larger meters, the deposit will be the actual cost <br /> <br />to the Village of obtaining the meter. This deposit <br /> <br />will be refunded when the property ownership is transferred. <br /> <br />Remote reading devices on water meters will be required <br /> <br />in all houses constructed after municipal water mains are <br /> <br />placed in the adjoining street. Remote reading devices <br /> <br />on water meters will be optional to the consumer in any <br /> <br />house existing at the time of water main construction in <br /> <br />the adjoining street. <br /> <br />(2) The Village shall maintain and repair all meters when <br /> <br />rendered unserviceable through ordinary wear and tear <br /> <br />and shall replace them, if necessary. However, where <br /> <br />replacement, repair, or adjustment of any meter is <br /> <br />rendered necessary by the act, neglect, including damage <br /> <br />from hot water backup, or carelessness of the owner or <br /> <br />occupant of any premises, any expense caus:ed the Village <br /> <br />thereby shall be charged against and collected from the <br /> <br />-17- <br />
