<br />252.190. Holidays. The following shall be official holidays <br /> <br />for all employees subject to this ordinance: New Year's Day, Januaryl; <br /> <br />Lincoln's Birthday, February 12; Washingtonl s Birthday, February 22; <br /> <br />Memorial Day, May 30; Independence Day, July 4; Labor Day, the first <br /> <br />Monday in September; Christopher Columbus Day, October 12; Christmas <br /> <br />Day, December 25; the Friday next preceding Easter Sunday, commonly <br /> <br />known as Good Friday; Thanksgiving Day; and Veterans Day, November 11. <br /> <br />If Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day or Independence Day <br /> <br />falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will be considered a holiday. <br /> <br />If Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day or Independence Day <br /> <br />falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be considered a holiday. <br /> <br />Employees shall observe the days herein designated as official holidays <br /> <br />and receive compensation as though worked, but essential operations <br /> <br />shall be maintained by such skeleton crews as the department head <br /> <br />deems necessary.
