<br />cast iron soil pipe with caulked leaded joints, and <br /> <br />provided further that the horizontal distances between <br /> <br />the sewer pipe and the water service is at least ten <br /> <br />(10) feet at property line, and provided that the water <br /> <br />service pipe approaches the sewer trench at an angle <br /> <br />with the property line of not less than 45 degrees and <br /> <br />having bends with not less than a three (3) foot radius. <br /> <br />Where it is desired to lay the water service pipe <br /> <br />and the building drain or building sewer pipe in the same <br /> <br />trench, on in separate trenches less than ten feet apart, <br /> <br />the water-service pipe shall be above the sewer pipe <br /> <br />and, unless impractible, it shall be placed at least <br /> <br />two (2) feet above the sewer and on a solid shelf <br /> <br />excavated at one side of the trench. The sewer pipe <br /> <br />shall be constructed of substantial material which is <br /> <br />corrosion-resistant and installed so as to remain water- <br /> <br />tight. Extra heavy cast-iron soil pipe with tested <br /> <br />watertight joints is acceptable for this construction. <br /> <br />The water service pipe shall be watertight and corrosion- <br /> <br />resistant. Copper pipe and cast-iron water pipe with <br /> <br />specially protected joints is acceptable for this <br /> <br />construction. Cast-iron pipe sh~l conform to the <br />American Water Association Specifications for such pipe. <br />
