<br />Bell-joint clamps with rubber gaskets are provisionally <br /> <br />acceptable as extra protection for the joints on cast- <br /> <br />iron water pipe. In all cases, precautions shall be <br /> <br />taken to assure a firm foundation for the pipes. The <br /> <br />intervening space between the pipes shall be back-filled <br /> <br />with compact earth. <br /> <br />II. <br />Section 66.080 of the Village Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />66.080. Repair of Leaks. It shall be the <br /> <br /> <br />responsibility of the consumer or owner to maintain <br /> <br /> <br />the service pipe from the watermain into the house <br /> <br />or building. In case of failure upon the part of <br /> <br />any consumer or owner to repair any leak occurring <br /> <br />in his pipe within twenty-four hours after verbal <br /> <br />or written notice thereof, the water will be shut <br /> <br />off and will not be turned on until the sum of ten <br /> <br />dollars has been paid and the leak repaired. When <br /> <br />the waste of water is great, or when damage is likely <br /> <br />to result from the leak, the water may be turned off <br /> <br />immediately pending repairs. <br />
