CITY OF ROSEVILLE AN ORDINANCE NO. 722 * * * * * * * * * * * * AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE BY ADDING CHAPTER 93 PROVIDING FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF SHORELAND AREAS IN THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE. The City Council of the City of RoseviUe does hereby ordain: 1. The City Code of the City of Roseville is hereby amended by adding Chapter 93 to read as follows: 93. SHORELAND MANAGE MENT 93.010. Statutory Authorization. Thi s Shoreland Management Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the authorization contained in Minn. Stat. ~l05.485, Subd. 6. 93.020. Policy. The uncontrolled use of shore- lands of the City of Roseville, Minnesota I affects the public health, safety and general welfare and has a deleterious affect on the natural ecology and ae sthetic environment of the community. Therefore, it is in the best interest of the public health, safety and welfare to provide for the wi se development of shoreland s of public waters. The Legislature of Minnesota had delegated responsibility to the municipalities to regulate the subdivision, use and development of the shorelands of public waters located within their incorporated limits and thus preserve and enhance the quality of surface waters, preserve the economic and natural environmental values of shorelands, and provide for the wise utilization of waters and relat ed land resources. This responsi- bility is hereby recognized by the City of Roseville, Minnesota. 93.030. Statement of Purpose.
