ORDINANCE NO. 995 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE BY ADDING CHAPTER 280 PROVIDING FOR INDEMNIFICATION OF EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS, BOARD MEMBERS, AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. The City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby ordain: 1. Chapter 280 of the City Code of the City of Roseville is hereby added to read as follows: 280. Indemnification of Employees, Officers, Board Members, and Council Members. 280.010. Definition. The following definitions apply to all sections in Chapter 280: (a) Employees - employees of the City of Roseville including part-time employees and volunteers working under the direct supervision of a City employee. (b) Board Members - This includes all persons serving on any boards or commissions established by the City Councilor by State law as a part of City of Roseville government, including but not limited to the Planning Commission, any Civil Service Commission, Human Rights Commission, Park and Recreation Board. This also includes any member, of a board, commission, or other entity, appointed or approved by the City Council pursuant to a joint powers agree- ment with other governmental bodies. 280.020. Indemnification. The City of Roseville will defend, insure, and indemnify all employees, officers, board members and City council members of the City of Roseville against losses sustained by liability claims for damages resulting from their torts including those which the City claims immunity which arise out of their conduct in the course of and scope of their employment or official actions. 280.030. Types of Claims. The indemnification and insurance set forth in Section 280.020 includes claims arising out of accidents, occurrences, acts or omissions.
