<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />ORDINANCE NO. 996 <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT SECTION 14.150 AND ADDING SECTION <br />14.155 PROVIDING FOR GRAND OPENING SIGNS. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby <br /> <br />ordain: <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />Section 14.150 of the City Code.of the City of Roseville is <br /> <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />14.150. Temporary Signs. Permits for temporary <br />signs, other than those allowed elsewhere in this <br />chapter, may be issued for periods not to exceed thirty <br />(30) days. During any calendar year, only two (2) such <br />permits may be issued for temporary signs on a parcel <br />of property and there shall be at least a ninety (90) <br />day period between such permit effective dates. The <br />surface of any temporary sign shall not exceed <br />seventy-five (75) square feet. If spotlights are used <br />in conjunction with temporary signs, such lights shall <br />not be operated during more than five (5) days in <br />conjunction any single permit and shall be placed in <br />such a manner so as not to constitute a traffic hazard. <br />A lighter than air balloon, no more than thirty-five <br />(35) feet in diameter, may be used as a temporary sign <br />one (1) time per year for no more than five (5) <br />consecutive days. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />A new Section 14.155 is added to read as follows: <br /> <br />14.155. Grand Opening Signs. permits for signs <br />announcing the opening of a new business enterprise <br />("Grand Opening Signs"), on the premises where the new <br />business is located, may be issued for a time period <br />not to exceed two (2) weeks. The total area of such <br />signs may not be greater than the permitted sign area <br />allowed by this code to a single site. Such signs may <br />not be located within fifteen (15) feet of the public <br />right of way; may be printed on cloth or other suitable <br />material; and, shall not be mounted on a wheeled <br />vehicle or trailer. No pennants, balloons, flags, or <br />other similar objects may be attached to the sign or <br />the exterior of the building. A lighter than air <br />
