Commissioners Bell, Chestnut, Grauel, <br />Jonason and Swanson were present. Planner Dahlgren was also present. Commissioners <br />Membrez and Soike and Engineer Soutter were absent. <br /> <br />8-1-106 - Application from Norman Magnuson for permL S "n to subdivide six parcels <br />of land located near Skillman and Snelling Avenues de cd by metes and bounds <br />description. <br /> <br />Chestnut Moved, Jonason Seconded, that we recommend to", illage Council approval <br />of the subdivision of land described in Case 62-106 wi tho t '~equiring the Applicant to <br />plat the property. Carried unanimously. <br /> <br />8-1-107 - A representative from Towle Realty Company requested the Village Administrator <br />to advise the Planning Commission to table its application for a special use permit to <br />construct a service station on the Hamline Shopping Center parking lot until the <br />September 5, 1962 meeting. <br /> <br />8-1-108 - Vince C. Hencier submitted a plat for subdivision of lot 8 and plans for the <br />construction of two multiple dwellings on property near Lexington Avenue and County Road D. <br /> <br />Jonason Moved, Chestnut Seconded, that we recommend to the Village Council that the <br />subdivision of existing lot 8 and the plan for the construction of two multiple dwellings <br />be approved. Carried unanimously. <br /> <br />8-1-18 - Rose of Sharon Manor, Inc. has revised its appli~ation for development of land <br />near Highway No. 36 and Lexington Avenue. Reverend A. \', Gustafson and Eric Ahlstrand <br />appeared at the meeting in support of the application. e revised application provides <br />for a preliminary plat consisting of Lots 2, 3, 4 and "dlock 1; the dedication of the <br />southerly 30 feet of Grandview Avenue fronting on Lots 2 to 5, Block 1, inclusive; the <br />rezoning of land in Lot 1, Block 1, and all of Block 2, from R-l to R-3 district; and a <br />request for a special use permit to build a senior citizens home on Block 2, lying south <br />of Lovell Avenue extended. <br /> <br />Those who appeared at the meeting and spoke in Opposltlon of the application were: <br />Henry Reedy, 1035 Grandview Avenue W., I-Iarry Letourneau, 1023 Grandview Avenue, James Mann, <br />1045 Grandview Avenue, Mr. Magnuson, 1071 Grandview Avenue, Richard Radhke, 960 Lovell Ave. <br />and R. H. Peabody, Grandview Avenue. <br /> <br />Grauel was in favor of the rezoning of land south of Lovell Avenue but opposed that <br />portion of the application pertaining to rezoning of property lying north of Lovell Ave. <br />inasmuch as the rezoning of this property is not required for construction of the senior <br />citizens or nursing homes, and was of the opinion that future single family residences <br />constructed across the street from this type development would not be adversely affected. <br />
