Carried unanimously.

Mr. Dean Swartzel. Regional Director
Housing and Home Finance Agency
360 North Hichigan Avenue
Chicago 1, Illinois

Re: Minnesota Program OS-4

Dear Mr. Swartzel:

In 1960 the Planning Commission supported a plan to
acquire open space land in the Village of Roseville. The plan
was designed to obtain selected open space sites and plan for
gradual development of playgrounds, play fields and neighborhood
parks to meet the demands of each residential ncighborhood. It
was also proposed to acquire over 200 acres of land to be used in
developing a central park.

The Planning Commission has been asked to review the
central park area and convey our current comments to you. We
believe that the purchase of land for a central park would be
a tremendous asset to the community, pcrmitting a varied dcvelop~
ment of picnic areas, play fields and playgrounds, as well as
leaving extensive acreage in the park in its present natural state.

We want to take this opportunity to reaffirm our previous
recommendation in supporting this action.

Yours very tru1Yg

Albert Wo Grauel, Secretary
Roseville Planning Commission

cc~Richard W. Turnlund
Robert V. .Jonason
Frank Rog
