<br />Hinutes of Planning Commission Meeting <br /> <br />June 5, 1963 <br />8:00 P.M. to 12:10 A,M. <br /> <br />Chairman Jonason called the meeting to order. Commissioners Grauel, Jonason, Membrez, <br />Motl, Soike and Sigford were present. Commissioner Lund was absent. Councilman <br />Schrenker, Engineer Hanson and Planner Dahlgren were also present. <br /> <br />File No. 118 - Ferdinand Bucher request for a special use permit to extract sand and <br />gravel from property in the vicinity of South Owasso Boulevard and Western Avenue. <br />Mr. Bucher did not attend the meeting. <br /> <br />Membrez Moved, Soike Seconded, that the Bucher request be laid over until our next regular <br />meeting. Carried unanimously. <br /> <br />File No. 138 - William E. and Mary Jane Olson application for variance to conduct a <br />dancing school in an R-l District at 1911 Dellwood Avenueo William Eo Olson and Mary <br />Jane Olson, 1911 Dellwood Avenue and Robert Gearin, their attorney, presented the <br />proposal. No one opposed the application. <br /> <br />The Olsons indicated that a considerable amount of money was expended to build the <br />dancing school. That the building inspector knew of their plans and did not advise <br />them at the time the permit was issued that a variance would be required. <br /> <br />MotI Moved, Grauel Seconded, that the Olson variance be continued until the next <br />regular meeting of the Planning Commission and in the meantime all affected neighbors <br />within 250 foot radius or thereabouts be notified of the next regular meeting of the <br />Planning Commission. Also move that the Village Attorney and Ernie Kluegel be invited <br />to attend the next regular meeting of the Planning Commission and if either or both of <br />them cannot attend that they consult with ~fr. Dahlgren on the details of this question <br />and that he report to us their opinion on this matter. Carried unanimously. <br /> <br />File No. 125 - Zenith Oil Company request for a special use permit to construct a <br />service station in an I-I District at Cleveland Avenue and County Road C. Representatives <br />from Zenith Oil Company did not attend the meeting. <br /> <br />Membrez Moved, Soike Seconded, that the application from Zenith Oil Company be continued <br />until our next regular meeting July 10, 1963, and that the secretary write a letter to <br />the Applicant inquiring of their intentions to develop the property. Carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />FileNo. 142 - E. H. Willmus Properties, Inc. request for special use permit to extract <br />sand and gravel and operate portable gravel crushing machine on land lying between <br />Dale Street and Western Avenue north of County Road C. Thomas WiIlmus presented plans <br />with revised grades for the property. <br /> <br />Those who spoke in opposition to extracting sand and gravel from the property were <br />C. L. Vaughn, 567 Iona Lane; Howard Johnson, 2804 Western Avenue; and Tom Roberts, <br />2818 Western Avenue. James Nelson submitted a petition containing 80 names of <br />contiguous property owners who were opposed to the application. <br />
