<br />Minutes of Roseville Planning Commission Meeting <br />Special Meeting held June 13, 1963 <br />8:15 P.M. to 11:15 P.M. <br /> <br />Acting Chairman Membrez called the meeting to order and presided over the meeting <br />until Chairman Jonason arrived at the meeting at 8:20 P.M. Commissioners Grauel, <br />Jonason, Lund, Membrez, Motl and Sigford were presente Commissioner Soike was <br />absent. Councilman Schrenker, Engineer Hanson and Planner Dahlgren were also present. <br /> <br />File No. 147 - Application submitted by Alfred G. Ericksen, Jr. for variances in <br />building setback requirements on property located at 1450 W. County Road C. <br /> <br />Alfred G. Ericksen, Jr. 406 N. Prior Avenue, attended the meeting. Mr. Ericksen <br />proposes to construct an office, shop and lumber storage building on the property. <br />Access to the property will be attained from County Road C by a roadway extending <br />over the right-of-way and tracks of the Northern Pacific Railway Company. The <br />Applicant will require some land to be used for outside storage of materials. <br /> <br />Art Cooper, 1471 Rose Place and Jim Eichtem, 1447 Rose Place attended the meeting. <br />Mr. Eichtem preferred to have the fence set back as far as possible from the rear <br />property line. <br /> <br />The members of the Planning Commission agreed that the type of screening for this <br />property would set a precedent to type of screening and its location for development <br />of adjacent property zoned I-I. <br /> <br />Membrez Moved, Lund Seconded, that we recommend to the Village Council that the <br />buildings be set back as shown on the plot plan and that the Applicant be required <br />to construct an 8 foot high opaque redwood fence at the rear property line and that <br />he be required completely enclose the storage yard with said fence as shown on the <br />plan. Carried unanimously. <br /> <br />File No. 148 - Application submitted by Berglund Construction Company for variance <br />in building setback requirements on property located at 1470 W. County Road C. <br /> <br />L. L. Berglund, 1011 West 80th Street, Minneapolis, attended the meeting. Mr. Berglund <br />proposes to construct two 70 x 120 foot warehouses on the property and has requested <br />variances in the building setback requirements. Access to the property will be from <br />County Road C by a roadway which will cross over the right=of-way and tracks of the <br />Northern Pacific Railway Company. <br /> <br />Grauel Moved, Motl Seconded, that we recommend to the Village Council that the variances <br />in building setback requirements requested by Berglund Construction Company be <br />approved and that the Applicant be required to construct an 8 foot opaque redwood <br />fence along the east and west property lines extending from the rear lot line to the <br />southerly extremity of the proposed buildings; together with a fence on the rear <br />property line. That the Applicant be required to set the buildings back from the <br />front property line at least five feet to permit normal maintenance of the buildings. <br />Carried unanimously. <br />
