<br />Regular Meeting - Planning Commission <br />Wednesday, July I, 1964 7~30 P.M. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nelson. Members present: NelsonD <br />Soike, Motl, Anderson, Sigford and Membrez. Lund absent. Trustee Grauel and <br />Planning Consultant Dahlgren were also present. <br /> <br />Sigford moved, Motl seconded. to approve the minutes of June 3. 1964 and June 8D <br />1964. Carried by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />File 64-l73-B Mr. Borden representing owner Grayden submitted a letter written <br />by Mr. & Mrs. Swanberg. owners of property to the east and south of <br />the lot being considered for rezoning from R=l to R=3. This letter <br />stated they were not opposed to the rezoning. After due consideration <br />Soike moved. Nelson seconded we recommend that the rezoning be granted. <br />Carried by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />File 64-198 Division of lots on the southwest corner of Fernwood and County Road B. <br />Mr. Schaefer. the owner. requested to make 4 lots out of 8 forty foot <br />lots as now platted. Even though the proposed 4 lots did not quite <br />meet the minimum requirements as to square footage. Nelson moved. Soike <br />seconded that we recommend the approval of the redivision of these lots. <br />Ayes - Nelson. Soike. Motl. Sigford. Anderson. Nays = Membrez. <br /> <br />File 64-209 Division of lot requested by Dean Haes D 744 Heinel Drive. Soike moved. <br />seconded by Anderson that the request be laid over. no one present to <br />speak for this request. Carried by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />File 64-208 Division of lot requested by John Wewars. Mr. Wewars~ presentation did <br />not satisfy the members of the planning commission. As a matter of <br />fact, Mr. Wewars actually wanted to remove dirt from the property. After <br />due consideration Membrez moved. Motl seconded. that we recommend the <br />denial of this request. It is recommended. however. that the existing <br />plat be vacated and that it may be replatted to conform with the village <br />ordinance. As to the question of removing dirt from the propertYD he <br />was informed that the dirt could be moved if he applies for a permit. <br />In doing so he will have to show the grades. location of streets and <br />grades and must be approved by the Village Engineer. If the removal of <br />the dirt is allowed. the replatting of the property could be considered <br />later. Carried by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />File 64-207 Rezoning and division of lot = John Wagoner. Mr. Daubney presenting the <br />case stated that the existing bath house would be removed and that a <br />very attractive apartment building of 24 units would be constructed. <br />There was considerable opposition from the residents around Josephine LakeD <br />two thirds of them from Arden Hills. The fact that permitting the con~ <br />struction of apartment buildings around the shores of our lakes and that <br />it would establish a precedent. Motl moved~ Sigford secondedD that we <br />recommend the request be deniedo Carried by unanimous vote. <br />
