Nelson,
Membrez, Remsburg absent. Also present were Dahlgren, Village
Pl&lner, Grauel, Trustee and Odl&ld, Public Works Director.

L. O. Nelson moved, James Nelson seconded, to approve the minutes of the regular
meeting of May 5th as submitted. Approved by a unanimous vote.

File 65-273 - Division of an existing lot, request by Archie Johnson. 2100 North
Lexington Avenue. The applicant failed to appear at the meeting,
therefore, Linebarger moved, Sigford seconded, to lay the matter over
until the July 7th meeting. Carried by a unanimous vote.

File 65-265 . Rezoning request from R-l to R.3 by Angelo Carbone of the property on
Hamline Avenue across from Oakcrest. The secretary read a letter
received from the petitioner in which he requested that the matter be
continued to our July 7 meeting because the development plans were not
completed. Membrez moved, Nelson seconded, to postpone this matter until
July 7th. Carried by a unanimous vote.

File 65-266 Rezoning request from R-I to I-I by George Hart of the property on
Terminal Road, across from Murphy Transfer. Mr. Hart had no definite
plans as to how the property was to be used. He stated the use of the
property for single residences was almost an impossibility because of
the industrial development surrounding the subject property. He also
said the burden of taxes and assessments was fast becoming unbearable.

Most of the residents south of the subject property on Highway 36 were
strongly opposed to this rezoning. Mr. Patrick Flaherty, attorney,
spokesman for the group, said that Mr. liart was conducting his business
allowing poor housekeeping and that if he was to clean up a Ii tt Ie
there were possibilities to use the subject property for single residences.
There was a question in the mind of the members of the Planning Commission
as to whether or not a development of single residences was reasonable.
It was finally moved by Membrez, seconded by Linebarger that because
Mr. Hart had no development plans for the property that we recommend to
the Village Council to deny the zoning request. Carried by a unanimous
vote.

File 65-270 Rezoning request and special use permit from I-I to B-3 by Robert S.
Herbst, Jr. of the property at the southwest corner of County Road C and
Cleveland Avenue. Mr. Herbst proposed to construct a 60 unit motel for
drivers with parking under the building, a bar and a restaruant. However,
Mr. Dahlgren, in his report dated June 2, called the attention that the
legal description was incorrect, therefore, the commission could not
legally consider this request unless the correct legal description was
correct in the published notice. It was agreed to consider this matter
at a special meeting scheduled on June 21st at 5:00 P.M. with instructions
to the Village office to republish the correct legal description.

File 65-269 Special Use Permit - Target Stores, Inc. The Planning Commission was
informed that the applicant had withdrawn his request, therefore, no
action on this matter was taken.
