Regular Meeting, Roseville Planning Commission Wednesday, August 3, 1966 - 7:30 P.M. Members present: Linebarger, Carpenter, Remsburg, Nelson, Pope, Anderson and ~Iembrez. Also present: Grauel, Trusteel Odland, Engineer and Dahlgren, Planner. Remsburg Moved, Carpenter Seconded to approve the minutes of the special meeting of July 21, as submitted. Roll Call unanimous. Subject: File 271-65 - Ferdinand Bucher, special use permit to remove 50,000 yards of gravel Mr. Daubney again requested this permit on behalf of his client, Ferdinand Bucher. Several such requests had been made before. A large number of citizens attended the meeting in opposit~on of granting this request. They submitted a signed petition against this; pointing out the safety, health, dust and wear and tear06f the streets as the main factors to deny the granting the special use permit. It \Vas finally suggested that the owner of the land should be given some consider- ation in his efforts to develop his property and that the amount of gravel to be removed to be reduced to 10,000 yards. Remsburg moved, Nelson seconded, to recommend to issue a special use permit to remove 10,000 ~ards under the follow- ing conditions: 1. The removal to be done from November 1, 1966 to the time the winter road restrictions are lifted. 2. The hauling to be done Mondays through Fridays, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. 3. The complete removal of 10,000 yards to be completed by ~1ay 1, 1967. 4. A grading plan to be prepared by the applicant and approved by the Public Works Department. Roll Call, unanimous. File 325-66 - Request for a sign variance by Imperial Investors, (Bonanza Restaurant). There being no one present for the second time to explain why this variance was needed, Nelson moved, Anderson seconded to recommend to deny this request. Roll Call, unanimous. File 338-66 - Setback variance request by St. Rose of Lima Church on Hamline Avenue and Eldridge Street. TI1e plans of the building were presented by their architect and the fact that the work of construction had already begun, Nelson moved, Remsburg seconded to recommend the granting of this variance.
