<br />-2- <br /> <br />File 335-66 - Rezoning request by Hess Kline of property southwest <br />corner of Hamline Avenue and Highway 36 from B-1 to B-3. <br /> <br />Mr. Daubney,representing the petitioner, stated there was a need for an <br />automobile agency in Roseville. He further stated that the building proposed <br />will contain approximately 25,000 square feet worth one half of one million, <br />a frontage of 170 feet on Highway 36. Attorney Franke and Ray Kroiss supported <br />the request. Mr. and Mrs. Wallgren residing at 223l Hamline Avenue were opposed. <br />The Planning Commission members were in accord with the report of our Village <br />Planner Dahlgren in which he pointed out that it would b~ a serious mistake to <br />allo\V retailing along Highway 36. After due consideration, Pope moved, <br />Anderson seconded, to recommend tha the rezoing request be denied. Roll Call, <br />unanimous. <br /> <br />File - 336-66 Rezoning request by A. Gluek from 8-1 to 8-2, B-1 to <br />R-3 and R-l to R-3 of the Rroperty located on Snelling <br />Avenue north of County Road C. <br /> <br />Mr. Gene Parranto, representing the petitioner, presenteq a sketch, not too well <br />detailed, \Vhich showed the south one half of a total frontage of 900 feet on <br />Snelling Avenue, approximately> 300 feet in depth to be used for business (B-2) <br />and the balance of the,property to be used for multiple residences (R-3). The <br />~otal square footage of the land is 900' x 550'. <br /> <br />It \~as suggested that the prcoposed R-3A which is about to be adopted by the <br />Village Council should be considered by the owner. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />T <br /> <br />There was also a question of the legal description not being correct in the <br />published notice in the newspaper. After due consideration, Nelson moved, <br />Anderson seconded, to recommend the approval of the requested rezoning and that <br />the question of the legal notice be referred to the Village Attorney for a deter- <br />mination as to whether or not it was incorrectly published. Roll Call, unanimous. <br /> <br />File 331-66 - Variance sideyard setback requested by Theodore Jordahl, <br />2721 Matilda &treet <br /> <br />~lr. Jordahl requested a 6 foot setback instead of 10 feet to construct a carport <br />9 feet in width contiguous to the existing garage. The walls will be constructed <br />of red \Vood and the roof of a plastic material. It was felt tnat the request of <br />the setback variance was not unreasonable, therefore, Remsburg moved, Pope <br />seconded, to recommend the granting of the variance under the condition that the <br />carport be constructed to conform to the Village Building Code. Roll Call, unanimous. <br /> <br />File 334-66 - Sppcial use permit requested by Mrs. Jacoby, 648 Iona Lane. <br /> <br />Mr. Jacoby stated that the special use permit was needed to conduct a part time <br />nursery school in their home in the new area of the Lakeview Addition of Kroiss <br />Construction. Mrs.. Jacoby is a licensed teacher and she said she will conform to <br />the Minnesota State Standards in operating this part time nursery. Carpenter <br />finally moved, Nelson seconded, that we recommend tho granting of the special use <br />permit under the following conditions: <br />
