<br />Regular Meeting Roseville Planning Commission <br />Wednesday. September 7, 1966 e 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: Remsburg, Anderson, Pope, Carpenter, Linebarger and Membrez <br /> <br />Also present: H. Dahlgren, consultant; Grauel, Trustee and Odland, Engineer. <br /> <br />On motion by Anderson, seconded by Pope the minutes of the meeting of August 3rd <br />were approved as submitted by a unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Subject File 336-66 - The application for a variance of a sideyard setback by John <br />Rose was withdrawn, therefore, no action was necessary. <br /> <br />Subject File 339-66 - Rezoning request from R-3 to B=2 by Mrs. Clyde McLean of property <br />at 2563 North Hamline Avenue. <br /> <br />Because of a misunderstanding of the size of the land to be rezoned, Anderson moved, <br />Remsburg seconded, that the matter be continued at the next regular meeting, <br />October 5th. Roll Call, unanimous. <br /> <br />The applicant, Mrs. McLean,was instructed to straighten the matter of legal description <br />of the land she wishes to rezone so that the correct legal description can be published <br />again. Mr. Daubney, attorney representing Mrs. McLean, promised to make the correction. <br />Upon questioning Mrs. McLean and Mr. Daubney about the proposed B=2, which the Planning <br />Commission suggested should be B= 1, with a special use permit g they both agreed that B""l <br />would be satisfactory. <br /> <br />Nurseries, garden and sale of both, was recommended to be added to the B-1 classifi- <br />cation under a special use permit. After some discussion Anderson moved, Pope seconded, <br />that it be so done. Roll Call: unanimous <br /> <br />Subject File 340-66 - Request to vacate CJU,.ty Road C<Zid~5t of Millwood Avenue by <br />Midland-Videen, Inc. <br /> <br />There was a question as to whether or not the long range function of County Road Ce2 <br />as an East-West traffic route can be interrupted. The vacation of any part of County <br />Road C-2 would make it impossible in the future for an East-West thoroughfare at this <br />point if ever needed. Some conce;i.'tI was also ex pressed about the Glendenning property <br />immediately to the south which i~ ii,till zoned R-I. thtJut a right-of-way along the north <br />end of their property, it might feate a situation whereby a change of zoning might be <br />justified in the future if Glendenning applied for it. r1emt rez finally moved, Carpenter <br />seconded that the vacation be denied. Roll Call, unanimous. <br /> <br />Subject File 341-66 - Rezoning request from 1-1 to I~2 of the property located on <br />Cleveland Avenue and County Road C-2e the request submitted by Swahn Liquidating <br />Trust, a Gluek interest. <br /> <br />A representative of Garrett Freight Lines, Inc. the purchaser of the property and Gene <br />Parranto, representing the Gluek interest, the seller requested this rezoning for a motor <br />freight line which consists of 14.32 acres. <br /> <br />After due consideration, Membrez moved, Carpenter secondeda to recommend the granting of <br />the request. Roll Call: unanimous. It was brought to the attention of the applicant <br />that some fill will be required to make this property useable for development. The <br />applicant stated he was aware of the situation and will raise the low area to a satisfactory <br />grade level and be subject to the app~oval of the Department of Public Works. <br />
