-2-

Subject File 396-67 Preliminary plans for new administration building for
Independent School District No. 623 located at County Road B-2 between Lexington
Avenue and Hamline Avenue.

It was moved by Pope and seconded by Anderson that we recommend opposition to the
proposed plans based on the location of the building. It appears that the School
District is exploiting the investment that the Village has in the park propertyo
At the time of purchase the School District agreed that the area should be left in
its natural state for wildlife. We would like to suggest that the building be put
on the property at the east end of the athletic field. This property fronting on
Lexington is now for sale. Roll Call: unanimous.

Subject File 397-67 Letter from Village of Shoreview requesting our comments on
the rezoning for apartments on property located west of Rice Street and north of
the Northern Pacific Railway tracks.

It was moved by Remsburg and seconded by Pope that we point out the following:

I. The Village of Roseville has opposed the rezoning of lakeshore property
for the use of apartments.

2. If the land in Roseville is to be used, the developer would have to ask for
a rezoning.

3. It would not be feasible to have a building that is in both villages and we
suggest that the building be relocated.

Roll Call: unanimous.

Subject File 357-66 Vadnais Construction Company - property located between old
and new Highway 8, south of County Road C-2 and north of County Road C.

Frank Husnik, president of Vadnais Construction Company, requested that a letter be
sent to the Village of St. Anthony regarding Roseville's plan for the property located
to the north of his property between old and new Highway 8 and County Road C=2o It
was the feeling of the Commission that this property would be used as some sort of
multiple development and it was moved by Pope and seconded by Remsburg that the sec-
retary be authorized to send such a letter with a report from our planner attachedo
Roll Call: unanimous.

There being no further business it was moved by Pope and seconded by Remsburg that
we adjourn. Roll Call: unanimous.

Respectfully submitted,

~~

Cameron Anderson, Secretary
