<br />Regular Meeting - Roseville Planning Commission <br />Wednesday, July 3, 1968 - 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br />Members absent: <br />Also present: <br /> <br />Membrez, Anderson, Carpenter, Demos, Edlund and Remsburg <br />Pope <br />Dahlgren, Grauel and Goldberg <br /> <br />It was moved by Remsburg and seconded by Carpenter that we accept the minutes of the <br />meeting of June 5, 1968 as submitted. Roll Call: unanimous. <br /> <br />Subject File 456-68 - Mrs. Anne Jaglowski request for division of lot and relocation <br />of a house at 2025 West County Road B. <br /> <br />This property was involved in a rezoning and planned unit development which was approved <br />last year. The division of the lot has to be done before Mrs. Jaglowskican move her <br />house. It was understood last year that she would be allowed to move her house onto the <br />south 250 feet that was left zoned residential along County Road B. It was indicated <br />that she would be willing to dedicate 10 feet for future widening of County Road B. <br /> <br />It was moved by Edlund and seconded by Remsburg that we recommend to the Council that they <br />approve the request for division of lot and relocation of a dwelling at 2025 West County <br />Road B subject to the dedication of 10 feet along the southerly portion of the lot for <br />the widening of County Road B. Roll Call: unanimous. <br /> <br />Subject File 457-68 - Paul Baber request for approval of preliminary plat - Baber Addition <br />located east of Western Avenue opposite Oakcrest. <br /> <br />Mr. Paul Baber is dividing 3 acres into 8 lots with a cul-de-sac road. He will build on <br />one or two of the lots and possibly sell the rest. He stated that he will not need a <br />variance when he builds his home. The water, sewer and gas are in on Western Avenue. <br /> <br />It was moved by Remsburg and seconded by Edlund that we recommend to the Council that they <br />approve the preliminary plat of the Baber Addition. Roll Call: unanimous. <br /> <br />Subject File 458-68 - Roseville Marine, Inc., 2151 North Snelling Avenue, request for a <br />special use permit to allow sale of motorcycles in a B-3 zone. <br /> <br />Attorney Morris Sherman of 818 Farmers & Mechanics spoke for Roseville Marine, Inc. He <br />stated that the Village passed an ordinance last August that requires a special use <br />permit to sell motorcycles that d1ey were not aware of. They were granted a franchise <br />in early May and when told of the violation of the ordinance they removed the bikes that <br />they had on the premises. They have spent $20,000 in advertizing so far. They state <br />that there will be no bikes outside. All the bikes will be inside the building. Repair <br />shops are in the rear. There would be no testing of the bikes in front. All riding will <br />be done in the rear. Mr. Griffith stated there would be no kids hanging around. That he <br />opera tes a clean store. He can repair cycles now. He would conform to the sign ordinance. <br />Admitted that the parking was a problem that he hasn't solved as yet. Mr. Dick Knutson <br />of the Arden Inn stated that motor bikes and cars that were Roseville Marine's customers <br />were parked in his parking lot. He was opposed to this request because the area was not <br />big enough for the operation because it lacked parking space. The Planning Commission <br />discussion centered on the problem of parking. <br /> <br />It was moved by Edlund and seconded by Anderson that we recommend to the Council that they <br />approve the request for Special Use Permit to allow sale of motorcycles in a B-3 zone <br />at 2125 North Snelling Avenue provided that they fully ecomply wi th all sign ordinances. <br />and that parking on the west curb line be eliminated, also that they provide adequate off <br />~'t"BAT I\::I.,.!cing -Fn,.
