-2-

Subject File 459-68 - Glenn W. Larson request for side yard variance to setback at
902 West County Road B-2.

Mr. Glenn Larson is requesting a variance of 14 feet so that his addition to his house
would be 16 feet from the street instead of the required 30 feet. At this tee corner
with all the traffic having to stop for County Road B-2 it appeared that the traffic
situation would not be a problem, therefore

It was moved by Demos and seconded by Remsburg that we recommend to the council that
they grant the side yard variance of 14 feet for the corner lot. Roll Call: unanimous.

Subject File 460-68 - Otto Esch Equipment Company request for special use permit
amendment at 2365 Highway 36.

No one appeared at the hearing.

It was moved by Remsburg and seconded by Carpenter that we lay this over until our
meeting on August 7, 1968. Roll Call, unanimous.

Su~ject File 461-68 - Lametti and Sons, Inc. special use permit for temporary concrete
batch plant in 1-1 area at 2560 North Cleveland Avenue.

Mr. Brown represented Lametti & Sons, Inc. He stated that this temporary permit was
required for service to the new Rosedale Center. They would store some aggregate and
cement on the premises. The maximum operation would be 3-4 ready mix trucks per hour.
They checked the Rosedale site and they couldn't get any space there. The plant would
be set up on the back portion of the front five acres. Mr. Marvin Hanson said that
there would be cement dust flying around because he has worked in this field. Mr. Brown
said they would check further with the Rosedale Center.

It was moved by Remsburg and seconded by Carpenter that we recommend to the Council that
they deny this request for a special use permit for concrete batch plant in an 1-1 area.
Roll Call: unanimous.

Subjec~ File 462-68 - Transmit Mix Concrete Company request for special use permit to
operate a temporary concrete batch plantat 2376 Rose Place.

Mr. Tom Becken spoke. He said that there were junk cars and trees there now. Sand and
gravel would be trucked in. The cement would come in by rail. They would like the permit
for two construction seasons. Hauling would most likely be done with one dump truck with
one dump trailer. One truck would make about 5 trips per day. The plant would be rated
about 40 tons per hour. He agreed to have the sand and gravel brought in at night if
the traffic on Walnut becomes a problem. The Village Engineer pointed out that Rose Place
is not a nine ton road but only an oil mix. M~. Curt Amundson representing Old Dutch Fooe
Inc. stated that they have to use 100% make up air for their kitchens during the summer.
Any dust from the cement or from the trucks driving on private property would cause them
problems. It was pointed out that the cement would come in on the spur track that is
alongside of the Old Dutch plant.

It was moved by Carpenter and seconded by Edlund that we recommend to the Council that
they deny this request for a special use permit to operate a temporary concrete batch
plant at 2376 Rose Place, Roll Call: unanimous.
