<br />Roseville Planning Commission Meeting <br />Nednesday, November 4, 1970 <br /> <br />The November 4, 1970, meeting of the Roseville Planning Commission was called to order by <br />Chairman Membrez at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Johnson, Demos, Pope and Membrez. Edlund arrived at 7:45 P.M. <br />Kellett and Eagles <br />Councilman Gale Linebarger, Public Works Director Sherman Goldberg, <br />Inspection Superintendent Ernie Kluegel, Midwest Planning represent- <br />ative John Darling and Administrative Assistant Steve North. <br /> <br />Mr. Pope Moved and Mr. Johnson Seconded, that the minutes of the meeting of October 7, <br />1970, be approved as presented. Roll Call, Ayes: Johnson, Demos, Pope and Membrez. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Members present: <br />Members absent: <br />Others present: <br /> <br />Planning File 587-70 - Victor Vik preliminary plat, Vik Addition at 2200 Fulham Street <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Vik indicated his willingness to divide the property into three lots of 130 feet <br />width rather than the four lots as he originally proposed. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />J <br /> <br />Mr. Emerson, 2275 Nest County Road B, Mr. Domeier, 2283 West County Road B and Mr. Murma, <br />2263 West County Road B, presented a proposed plat for the Vik area. Mr. Emerson indicate, <br />that their proposal was only preliminary in nature and certainly open to modification. <br />Mr. Domeier stated that he was most concerned about the placement of Fulham Street and les~ <br />concerned about the width of the lots. <br /> <br />Mr. Membrez felt that the issue had been postponed long enough and that Mr. Vik was entitlt <br />to a decision. <br /> <br />Recanmendation <br /> <br />Mr. Johnson Moved and Mr. Pope Seconded, that the Commission recommend approval of the Vik <br />preliminary plat at 2200 Fulham Street with four 97 foot in width lots, subject to the <br />establishment of sanitary sewer and drainage easements as prescribed by the Village of <br />Roseville engineering department. Roll Call, Ayes: Johnson, Demos, Pope, Edlund and <br />Membrez. Nays: None. <br /> <br />~anning File 591-70 - Fridholm Construction Company request for sign variance at 1076 <br />County Road 8 <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Paul Magnuson, representing Fridholm Construction Company, indicated that the present sign <br />at the Miss Swiss Superette is 30 feet back from the street right-of-way as required by thl <br />ordinance. He requested that Fridholm be permitted to move the sign to within S f~. ,f thl <br />right-of-way and also to move it adjacent to the west property line. The variance is needl <br />if the sign is to be effective in drawing customers. Mr. Magnuson stated that gross sales <br />at this store are 50% below that of other stores in the chain and he felt that a major fac' <br />was that the sign cannot be seen because of the building on the west and the trees on the. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Edlund felt that S feet was too close to the right-of-way and proposed that a variance <br />nf Ie;.
