<br />Roseville Planning Commis~ion ~~eting <br />Wednesday, April 7, 1971 <br /> <br />The April 7, 1971, meeting of the Rosevi1le Planning Commission was called to order <br />by Chai rman ~~mbrez at 7: 35 P .Mo <br /> <br />Members present: <br />Members absent: <br />Others present: <br /> <br />Pope, Eagles, Kellett and Membrezo Edltmd arrived at 7:45 PoMo <br />~mos and Johnson <br />Cot.n1cilman Albert Grauel, Public Works Director Sherman GOldberg, <br />Midwest Plarming representatives John Darling and Dick Dynell and <br />Administrative Assistant Steve North 0 <br /> <br />Planning File 613-71 = Laszcwski and Schreier request for rezoning from R-l to R-2 <br />at 387 Centennial Drive <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mro Schreier indicated that he owns the lot at 387 Centennial Drive and that <br />r~ro Laszcwski desired to purchase it and construct a double house. Mr. Schreier stated <br />that because of the soil condition, pilings would be necessary, therefore, making it <br />economically lU1feasible to build a single family homeo Mr. Laszcwski presented his <br />plans for the double house to the Commissiono <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Kellett inquired as to the dimensions of the lote !'.1re r/~mbrez indicated that it was <br />approximately 100' x 15710 Mr. ri~mbrez indicated his concern that since the neighborhood <br />is zoned R-l a rezoning of the parcel would be considered spot zoningo <br /> <br />Jim Peterson, 391 Centennial Drive, was in agreement that the rezoning would be spot zoning <br />and was also concerned about the effect of the rezoning on the value of his homeo <br /> <br />Paul Zemke, 459 Centennial Drive~ indicated that he had moved out of Sto Paul because a <br />six story apartment was being built behind where he livedo He chose his present home be- <br />cause he knew the area was zoned for single family dwellingso <br /> <br />Bob L:ndeborg, 398 Centennial Drive, indicated the lot is zoned R-I and there was no <br />justifible reason for changing ito <br /> <br />Tom Murray, 420 Centennial Drive, also agreed that if the rezoning were approved it would <br />certainly be considered spot zoningo <br /> <br />Mro Schreier stated that it was intended that the double house would be owner occupiedo <br />He also indicated that the dwelling \vould be of high quality and wcu1d not deteriorate <br />the value of the surrolU1ding property 0 <br /> <br />Mro f\'bmbrez reiterated his concern over spot zoning and indicated his opposition to the <br />rezoning. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mr. Membrez moved and Mro Kellett seconded, that the Convnission recommend denial of the <br />request for rezoning from R-I to R=2 at 387 Centennial Drive.
