<br />Rosevil1e Planning Commission Meeting <br />Wednesday, June 2, 1971 <br /> <br />The JlD1e 2, 1971, meeting of the Roseville Planning Commission was called to order by <br />Chaiman M;!mbrez at 7: 30 P oM. <br /> <br />Members Present: ~mos, Johnson, Pope, Eagles and Membrez. Edlund arrived at 7:35 P.M. <br />and Kellett arrived at 7:40 PoM. <br /> <br />Members Absent: None <br /> <br />Others Present: Councilman Albert Grauel, Public Works Director Shennan Goldberg, <br />Midwest Planning representative Dick Dynell and Administrative <br />Assistant Steve North <br /> <br />Mrs. ~mos Moved and Mr. Jolmson Seconded, that the minutes of the meeting of May 5, 1971 <br />be approved with the following aJrendJrent: <br /> <br />"Page 4, Planning File 623-71 - Recommendation: The Planning Commission reconurends <br />also that the Comcil direct the Village Planning Consultant to give a report which <br />would include a review of the shopping center from the beginning to the present. This <br />report should be available for the June 1971 meeting. . . .Add the following ... In <br />addition the Dayton ~ve1opnent Company should bring in plans showing the ultimate <br />developnent of the Rosedale Shopping Centero Roll Call, Ayes: I:emos, Jolmson, Pope, <br />Eagles and ~~mbrez. Nays: None . <br /> <br />Planning File 620-71 - Arlington Properties request for rezoning from R-l to R-3 and <br />Special Use Permit at 2995 Troseth Road <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Dick Sags tet ter, representing Arlington Properties, indicated that the presentatioo <br />had been made at the last Planning Commission neeting and that he would be happy to answer <br />any questions that the Commission might have. <br /> <br />Discussioo <br /> <br />Mr. M;!mbrez stated that the main objection at the last meeting seeIOOd to be the traffic <br />problem which would be created by the additional apartment mits. <br /> <br />Mr. Sagstetter indicated that the traffic on Troseth Road is not really a problem and <br />that there was little travel on Troseth other than the present residents. He agreed that <br />the additional apartment units would increase the traffic flow but he felt it would not <br />create any problems. <br /> <br />Mrs. ~mos stated that she would like to see a townhouse development on the property rather <br />than apartIOOnts. <br /> <br />Mr. Sagstetter replied that he personally felt it would not be economically feasible to <br />develop townhouses on the site. <br /> <br />Mr. Don Highlander, 2925 Troseth Road, represented the residents. He indicated that the <br />residents are opposed to the apartment development for the following reasons: <br /> <br />1. Safety for our children. The area presently does not have sidewalks and the <br />increased traffic would in turn increase the hazzards to the children in the <br />area. <br />
