<br />Roseville Planning Commission Minutes <br />March 1, 1972 <br /> <br />The March 1, 1972, regular meeting of the Planning Commission was <br />called to order by Chairman Pope at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> <br />Kellett, G. Johnson, Membrez, Demos and Pope. <br />V. Johnson and Eagles arrived at 7:35 P.M. <br /> <br />Members absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Others present: <br /> <br />Councilman Albert Grauel, Public Works Director <br />Sherman Goldberg, Midwest Planning representative <br />Dick Dwinell and Administrative Assistant Steve North <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Mr. G. Johnson Moved and Mr. Kellett Seconded, that the minutes of <br />the regular Commission meeting of February 2, 1972, be approved. <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Kellett, G. Johnson, Demos and Pope. Nays: None. <br />Abstentions: Membrez. <br /> <br />Planning File 668 - Univac request for variance to sign setback <br />at 2276 Highcrest and 2470 Walnut <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Herman Bergman, Univac Corporation, indicated that his firm is <br />requesting a variance to the sign setback requirements for seven <br />different signs in the area of the Univac buildings. The signs are <br />presently placed in their desired location, based on a temporary permit <br />from the Village. If the request is approved, the signs would then <br />remain as a permanent fix+ure. Mr. Bergman felt they had developed a <br />minimum directional signage plan to minimize confusion on the part of <br />prospective employees, visitors, delivery drivers, etc. The signs, <br />to be effective, must be located near the street and, therefore, <br />conflict with the 40 foot setback requirement. He further stated that <br />Univac would assure that the signs would not obstruct the vision of <br />vehicular drivers at any of the locations. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mr. Membrez Moved and Mr. Eagles Seconded, that the Commission re- <br />commend approval of Univac's request for variance to sign setback at <br />seven different locations as indicated on site plan of 11-9-71. Roll <br />Call, Ayes: Kellett, G. Johnson, V. Johnson, Membrez, Demos, Eagles <br />and Pope. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 669 - Gunnar Pettersen request for rezoning from R-l <br />to B-1 and variances to setback at 2034 West <br />County Road D <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Pettersen indicated that he was purchasing two lots and request- <br />lng that the entirety of Lot 16, and the north 15 feet of Lot 15, be <br />
