That motion died for lack of a second). <br /> <br />Planning File 716 - Rosewall Corporation request for variance to sign sizes and <br />setback at 2105 North Snelling Avenue <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. George Nadler of Arby's Roast Beef Sandwich Restaurants indicated that <br />Arby's proposes to purchase the Roadside Drive In and demolish the building and <br />construct a new Arby's Restaurant. The proposed building would have a completely <br />new design as compared with the present Arby's Restaurants in the metronolitan area. <br />He indicated that the zoning is proper for such a development and that he is <br />requesting a variance to the sign size and setback. He stated that the sign would be <br />situated 14 feet from the front property line and contain approxlinately 125 square <br />feet per face. <br /> <br />Mr. Nadler indicated that the reason for placing the sign 14 feet from the front <br />yard property line rather than the required 30 is because of the other signs in the <br />area which would block the view of his sign from Snelling Avenue. <br /> <br />Recamnendation <br /> <br />Mr. Eagles moved and Mr. V. Johnson seconded, that the Connnission recornnend approval <br />of Rosewall Corporations's request for variance to sign size and setback at 2105 <br />North Snelling Avenue. Roll Call, Ayes: Kellett, G. Johnson, V. Johnson, Membrez, <br />Demos, Eagles and Pope. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 717 - Darrell FaIT Developnent Corporation request for variance to <br />building height at 1710 West Highway 36 <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Chuck Van Eckout, representing Darrell Farr Development Corporation, indicated <br />that they are proposing to develop an eight story office building made of pre cast <br />concrete on the site. He stated it would be a professional type office building. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Dennis Gilbertson, Midlothian Road, indicated that his only objection to the <br />proposal was the extreme height of the building. <br /> <br />Mr. Carl Fritz, 2119 Haddington Road, expressed similar sentiments. <br /> <br />Mr. Kellett indicated that the developer was to be commended on the design of the <br />proposed office building. <br /> <br />Recamnendation <br /> <br />Mr. Kellett moved and Mr. Eagles seconded, that the COTIUnissiDn recommend approval <br />of Darrell Farr Development Corporation's request for variance to building height <br />at 1710 West Highway 36. Roll Call, Ayes: Kellett, G. Johnson, V. Johnson, <br />Membrez, Demos, Eagles and Pope. Nays: None. <br />
