<br />-3- <br /> <br />Plarming File 748 - Kenneth Schwalbach request for variance to sign setback at <br />2611 Rice Street <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Schwalbach indicated that he proposes to construct a sign within 7 feet of his front <br />property line so that the sign may be seen by traffic on Rice Street. He stated that if <br />he constructs a sign 30 feet back as required, the visibility would be very poor. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Membrez indicated that the site has problems of visibility and that the variance <br />would be appropriate in his opinion. <br /> <br />Reconnnendation <br /> <br />Mr. G. Johnson moved and Mr. Kellett seconded, that the Commission recommend approval of <br />Kenneth Schwalbach's request for variance to sign setback at 2611 Rice Street. Roll Call, <br />Ayes: G. Johnson, Membrez, Demos, Eagles, Kellett and Pope. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 727 - Review of Comprehensive Development Plan <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mrs. Demos moved and Mr. Kellett seconded, that the review of the Comprehensive Develop- <br />ment Plan be laid over until the next regular Commission meeting. Roll Call, Ayes: <br />G. Johnson, V. Johnson, Membrez, Demos, Eagles, Kellett and Pope. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Plarming File 709 - Capital Improvement Program Planning <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. North indicated that the Village has employed a new Public Works Director and that <br />he will begin work May 28, 1973. Because the Public Works area is such an integral part <br />of a capital :improvements program, Mr. North suggested that the Conrnission hold off on <br />developing the program until the Public Works Director is present and is able to assist <br />in the development of the plan. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />The Commission members agreed that this was a reasonable approach and it was decided to <br />lay the matter over from month to month. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mrs. Demos moved and Mr. Eagles seconded, that Capital Improvement Program Planning <br />be laid over until the next regular Commission meeting. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Plarming File 730 - Study of Noise Level at the intersection of Highways 36-280-35W <br />(north side) <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. North reported that Mr. Gary Orlich of the State Highway Department had indicated <br />that no noise tests have been taken at present, but that tests were anticipated to be <br />conducted in the near future. <br />
