-3- Plarming File 748 - Kenneth Schwalbach request for variance to sign setback at 2611 Rice Street Presentation Mr. Schwalbach indicated that he proposes to construct a sign within 7 feet of his front property line so that the sign may be seen by traffic on Rice Street. He stated that if he constructs a sign 30 feet back as required, the visibility would be very poor. Discussion Mr. Membrez indicated that the site has problems of visibility and that the variance would be appropriate in his opinion. Reconnnendation Mr. G. Johnson moved and Mr. Kellett seconded, that the Commission recommend approval of Kenneth Schwalbach's request for variance to sign setback at 2611 Rice Street. Roll Call, Ayes: G. Johnson, Membrez, Demos, Eagles, Kellett and Pope. Nays: None. Planning File 727 - Review of Comprehensive Development Plan Recommendation Mrs. Demos moved and Mr. Kellett seconded, that the review of the Comprehensive Develop- ment Plan be laid over until the next regular Commission meeting. Roll Call, Ayes: G. Johnson, V. Johnson, Membrez, Demos, Eagles, Kellett and Pope. Nays: None. Plarming File 709 - Capital Improvement Program Planning Presentation Mr. North indicated that the Village has employed a new Public Works Director and that he will begin work May 28, 1973. Because the Public Works area is such an integral part of a capital :improvements program, Mr. North suggested that the Conrnission hold off on developing the program until the Public Works Director is present and is able to assist in the development of the plan. Discussion The Commission members agreed that this was a reasonable approach and it was decided to lay the matter over from month to month. Recommendation Mrs. Demos moved and Mr. Eagles seconded, that Capital Improvement Program Planning be laid over until the next regular Commission meeting. Roll Call, Ayes: G. Jolmson, V. Plarming File 730 - Study of Noise Level at the intersection of Highways 36-280-35W (north side) Presentation Mr. North reported that Mr. Gary Orlich of the State Highway Department had indicated that no noise tests have been taken at present, but that tests were anticipated to be conducted in the near future.
