<br />-4- <br /> <br />Mrso Demos asked. if the. applicant was tied to the type of exterior which the Zayre <br />Shopper City building has.in.West St. Paul and also if in the future they would be <br />requesting approval of a free standing TBA on the site? <br /> <br />Mr. Carlson indicated that they were not tied to any particular exterior material and <br />that there would be. no request. for a free standing TBAsince the principal building <br />includes facilities for an automotive center. <br /> <br />Mr. Mike Matson, 2700 North Pascal, expressed concern about the traffic which would be <br />generated by theconnnercial activities in the proposed development and that it would <br />create traffic problems and traffic jams in the area. He stated that the residential <br />neighborhood, of which. he is a.part, on the east side of Pascal Avenue, was becoming an <br />island. He also expressed concern about the pond which is located on the northeast <br />corner of the property with. respect to the. drainage. of materials from the parking lot of <br />the Zayre Store.. to.. the pond,. and questioned the effects of such drainage, He presented <br />a petition to the Commission signed by residents indicating their opposition to the re- <br />zoning. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mrs. Demos moved and Mr. Kellett seconded, that Venture Theatre's request for rezoning <br />from R-l and B~l to.B~l:-B.and.R:-l, Special Use Permit and Preliminary Plat at 2660 <br />North Snelling Avenue be laid over until the next regular Commission meeting. Roll Call, <br />Ayes: Membrez, Demos, Eagles, Kellett, Vo Johnson and G. Johnson. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 799 - Lakeshore Zoning Ordinance <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mro Dahlgren presented the. Commission with a memorandum on the municipal regulation of <br />shoreline development" .He.indicatedthat he would have a suggested. ordinance regarding <br />shoreline development for the regular January Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Several residents from. the neighborhood around Langton Lake were present. and expressed <br />interest in working with the Village in the preparation of the. shoreline ordinance. <br />It was suggested that. they could select representatives who could meet with the Village <br />Planner when he. has his regular appointments on Wednesday mornings, in the Village Hall. <br />The residents thought this would be a good idea. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mrso Demos moved and Mr. V. Johnson seconded, that the lake shore zoning ordinance be laid <br />over until the. next. regular Commission. meeting. Roll Call, Ayes: Demos, Eagles, <br />V. Johnson and G. Johnson. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 771 - Review of Sign Ordinance <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren presented the Planning Conunission with a draft of a suggested sign <br />ordinance. Several questions. were. asked and it was decided to. continue the item until <br />the next Commission meeting. to. provide the Commission members an opportunity to further <br />review the proposed ordinanceo <br />
