Rosevil1e Planning COrJmission Minutes Wednesday, Augu.st 6, 1975 The August 6, 1975 regular meeting of the Roseville Planning Corrcnission was called to order by Chairman Grauel at 7:30 P.H. Members present: G. Jolmson, V. Jolmson, Kellett, Rukavina, Mastel, Cushing and Grauel. Members absent: None Staff present: Howard Dahlgren, Terry Kraner and Steve North Approval of Minutes Mr. G. Johnson moved and Mr. Rukavina seconded, that the minutes of the regular meetIng of July 2, 1975, be approved. Roll Call, Ayes: G. Johnson, V, Jolmson, Kellett, Rukavina, Hastel, Cushing and Grauel. Nays: None. Planning File 906 - Robert Schulze request for variance to sign setback at 2109 North Snelling Avenue Presentation Mr. Schulze stated that he had cormntll1icated with the Color Tile Corporation regarding the possibility of locating the Sound of ~msic sign on the same pylon as the Color Tile Sign. He stated that Color Tile had approved the placement of the Sound of Husk sign on top of the Color Tile pylon. Therefore, the request for variance to sign setback would not be required. tbwever, l1e thought that a variance to sign height and size might be required. Discussion Mr. Dahlgren commented that the placement of the Sound of ~msic sign on the existlng pylon was a good idea. He indicated that Mr. Schulze should verify whether aT not a variance to height and size would be required, and if it were that he should apply for the necessary variances. Mr. Dahlgren suggested that since the setback variance was no longer required that ~~. Schulze may desire to ivithdraw his requestc Mr. V. Johnson inquired that if the request were withdrm'ffi could the application fee be reimbursed. He stated that it was at the suggestion of the Planning CommisslOn that the applicants sign be placed on the existing pylon. Mr. North indicated that lUlder normal circumstances the fee would not be reimbursed because the expenses of publication and mailing of notices had already been incuned, however, because the possible withdrawal and potential new application for a different variance may occur at the suggestion at the Planning Conmission that the CommiSSlOn may desire to recommend to the Council that the fee be reimbursed. Mr. Schulze requested that his application for variance to sign setback be withdrawn. Recommendation Mr. Rukavina moved and Mr. V. Johnson seconded, that the Commission recommend that t.1],e request of Mr. Robert Schulze to withdraw his application for variance to sign setback at 2109 Snelling Avenue be approved and further recommend that the $50 application fee be reimbursed.
