Johnson moved and Mr. Rukavina seconded. that Scott Barrett's request for division <br />of a lot at 887 Parker Avenue be continued to the October Planning Commission meeting. <br />Roll Call. Johnson and Grauel. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 921 - James Sweeney request for preliminary plat "Sweeney Southview <br />Heights" at the 1700 Block of Alameda <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Sweeney indicated that he proposes to plat six single family lots on a cuI de sac of <br />Alameda which would be extended. He stated that he has owned the property for approximately' <br />25 years. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. George Membrez inquired how there could be enough room to construct homes on the lots <br />being so much of the lots are under water. <br /> <br />Mr. Terry Kramer indicated thereis sufficient space on the property to construct homes and <br />meet the setback requirements and that utilities are available for- the lots. He also stated <br />that Mr. Sweeney will not be permitted to place any fill in the pond because it is a holding <br />pond on which the city has an easement. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Larson indicated that he has been a member of the City's Recreation Committee for <br />several years and that this 'Droperty has been considered by the city for park acquisition <br />since 1961. He stated that he was opposed to the plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Grauel stated that if the Recreation Committee feels that the property should be pur- <br />chased that they should make their feelings known to the Council prior to the Council <br />hearing on the request. <br />
